Course Goals

This course continues from where the LPI101a and LPI101b courses leaves off. The goal of this course is firstly to give administrators more confidence in working with the Linux kernel; secondly, it contains a solid introduction to the Bourne-Again Shell as a programming language and illustrates common shell scripting techniques in use for system administration, the automation of standard procedures and system customisation.

After finishing this course, participants will be able to configure a Linux kernel according to their needs and to compile it and to integrate it into a Linux system.

In addition, they will be able to design, implement and test simple shell scripts. A basis for further shell exploration will have been established. This course also includes the requisite knowledge for the relevant parts of the LPIC1 certification.

Knowledge
      What about certification? To Top

We are an approved training centre for the Linux professionall's institute (LPI). The LPI is an internationally recognised Linux certification which certifies that a candidate is proficient in any distribution of Linux. This is incredibly important, because although some distribution specific certifications are internationally recognised, they are not necessarily used a great deal overseas.

For more information, please call visit www.lpi.org, or contact us.
